Judgment (卦辭)
歸妹，征凶，無攸利。
A young woman marries off under mismatched circumstances; pressing forward brings misfortune, nothing gained.
The six lines (爻辭)
初九：歸妹以娣，跛能履，征吉。
The bride marries as a secondary wife, like a lame person who can still walk - moving forward is fortunate.
九二：眇能視，利幽人之貞。
One who is half-blind can still see - fitting for someone living quietly and firmly to persist.
六三：歸妹以須，反歸以娣。
The bride waits and delays her marriage, then returns to marry only as a secondary wife instead.
九四：歸妹愆期，遲歸有時。
The marriage date passes unmet; the delayed wedding will still come in its own time.
六五：帝乙歸妹，其君之袂，不如其娣之袂良，月几望，吉。
Emperor Yi gives his sister in marriage; her own sleeves are plainer than her attendant's finer ones, and the moon is nearly full - fortunate.
上六：女承筐無實，士刲羊無血，無攸利。
The woman lifts a basket that holds nothing; the man cuts the sheep but draws no blood - nothing favorable here.
