iYarrow helps you reflect on decisions through the I Ching. Doing that well means storing what you ask and the readings we generate. This page explains what we keep, why, and how you stay in control. It is written in plain language.
What we collect
- Your email address — used only to sign you in (passwordless magic link) and, in future, to send reminders you opt into.
- Your questions and readings — the decisions you describe and the interpretations iYarrow produces, kept as your history.
- A short derived profile — a brief summary of recurring themes, used to make later readings more relevant. It is bounded in length and built from your own history.
- Usage counts — how many readings you request, to enforce fair-use limits and keep the service sustainable.
How your data is processed
To generate a reading, the text of your question is sent to our language model provider (OpenRouter, which routes to the model that produces the reading) solely to produce that response. Your data is stored in Google Firestore. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Your rights
You can export everything we hold about you as a file, or permanently delete your account and all associated data, at any time from your account page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Retention
We keep your data until you delete it. If you stop using iYarrow, you may request deletion at any time.
One exception is worth stating plainly: when you remove a single reading from your history, it is archived rather than erased — hidden from you, still held by us, and used to study how well iYarrow reads. Your archive is erased the moment you ask, from your account page, and deleting your account erases it along with everything else.
A note on what iYarrow is
iYarrow offers a perspective on the moment to support your own reflection. It does not predict the future and is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, or financial advice.
